Horse Craigs
The Ordnance Survey Name Book (1855-57) entry for Horse Craigs reads –
A ledge of rocks on Craigdarroch farm, situated about 18 chains SW* of the rock called Castle William
*The abbreviation is transcribed as South in the OS Name Books entry, however Horse Craigs lie South West of Castle William [1] about 600 feet away.

The Authorities for Spelling were John Thornburn, Montraw and John Walsh* senior and John Walsh junior of Craigdarroch.
*Walsh should read Welsh
It should be noted that there is also a Horse Craig, about a mile to the north east of Horse Craigs, however the name does not appear in the Ordnance Survey Name Book (1855-57). Other named nearby craigs are Corbie Craig and Garnel Craig.
